How to get there
If you’re coming from Victoria, it’s approximately a 35-minute drive from the downtown core. You’ll take the Highway 17 / Pat Bay Highway to Highway 1 North which turns into the scenic, winding Malahat highway.
It’s approximately a 1-hour drive from Nanaimo. To get there you will take the Highway 1 South.
What to expect

The new Overhang at the Malahat SkyWalk
Once you’ve purchased your tickets, there is a short walk on the forested boardwalk that is accessible for everyone. The Spiral Tower is the main event: 10-storeys tall with no stairs, it’s a gentle incline with 360-views of the peninsula and mountains. Along the way you’ll see people of all ages enjoying the famous slide and local art that reflects the nature on Vancouver Island. At the very top, you’ll get a chance to try the SkyWeb, a net that overlooks the entire center of the tower which is best for the thrill seeking members of your family. For a great photo op make your way to the new Overhang, a transparent and very strong glass cube that has panoramic views at the very top of the tower. Your family may choose to walk back down the tower on the incline, or choose to ride the slide which takes you all the way down back to the bottom of the tower.
There is also plenty of space for those who are looking to sit back and relax at the base, with picnic tables, a cafe that serves snacks, an ice cream truck and a spot to purchase a coffee.
